Fabric
All UV100 fabrics undergo rigorous testing and receive a UPF50+ rating from ARPANSA, the official Australian government agency, meeting AS 4399:2020 standards.
In 2018, ARPANSA introduced a new standard for UV protection: UVE (Ultraviolet Effect Rating). This standard specifically evaluates sunshade fabrics like umbrellas and curtains that do not directly contact the skin.
The effectiveness of products such as umbrellas and curtains is influenced by factors like the sunshade area and distance from the body. Therefore, using UPF alone to label these items may not provide accurate protection assessments.
As a leading brand in sun protection wear, UV100 has embraced ARPANSA's initiative by providing UVE reports for our umbrella products, ensuring consumers receive the most thorough sun protection.
Made from 100% Polyester
Care Instructions
• If the umbrella fabric gets wet, let it dry before storing to prevent metal parts from rusting and to extend the umbrella's lifespan.
• When removing the umbrella from its sleeve, gently shake it to loosen the fabric for easier opening.
• When closing the umbrella, follow the creases to fold the fabric neatly. This prevents the fabric from getting caught in the ribs and potentially damaging the umbrella when reopening.
• When placing the umbrella back into its sleeve, lightly twist it in the opposite direction of the folds to fit it back in.
